The HDFql VARBIGINT data type stores values between -9,223,372,036,854,775,808 and 9,223,372,036,854,775,807 and occupies 8 bytes in memory (per element). It represents the data type of an HDF5 (variable-length) H5T_NATIVE_LLONG dataset/attribute or of a result set that stores variable-length elements of this type (which can be retrieved using the HDFQL_CURSOR_GET_BIGINT and HDFQL_SUBCURSOR_GET_BIGINT functions when working with cursors). Depending on the programming language supported by HDFql, the VARBIGINT data type is represented by:

• In C, the “long long” data type.
• In C++, the “long long” data type.
• In Java, the “ArrayList<Long>” class.
• In Python, the “int64” NumPy data type.
• In C#, the “Int64” data type (or corresponding alias “long”).
